More than 300 young students screamed in delight as the Arby’s Good Mood Food Truck visited Grove Park Elementary School in Atlanta, Georgia with treats from the Arbys menu. The visit was the first of the day spotlighting the fast food company’s partnership with the Share Our Strength’s “No Kid Hungry” campaign. More than 1 in 5 kids in the United States goes to bed hungry each day. Thecampaign was created to bring attention to this fact.
Kids Treated To Arbys Menu Treats
A partnership between the school and the Arby’s Foundation was established three years ago. Students at the school were treated to the Arbys menu new Kids Meals on October 5th, including Cheese and cheese and turkey sandwiches, apple bites with a yummy yogurt dipping sauce, and low fat milk. It was all topped off by fun activities such as a tug of war contest, dancing, and a visit by the iconic Miss Chiquita. Yes, she wore the famous hat with fruit on top of it which the kids loved!
Far too often companies don’t give back to the community. They don’t take the time to educate students. This cannot be said about Arbys restaurants. Through education, the company is trying teach kids that they should appreciate the food they have, eat right, and stay healthy by being active. This is welcome in an age where there are so many obese children. Of course there is a little self-promoting as the company would like nothing more than for these kids to visit the different Arbys locations when they are old enough to drive, but I find nothing wrong with that. I, as most, understand they are running a business. I also understand that they are doing it the right way.
It’s not difficult to fall in love with the Arbys menu when you consider all the wonderful items they have. I love them even more realizing some of the things they are doing for our kids. These visits are welcome by all and anything that can be done to curb childhood obesity is a good thing. You should pay them a visit the next time you have a chance and show your support. Look for Arbys coupons before you go and save yourself some money while you are at it.
